Mediation and
Collaborative Divorce Services
I offer couples the opportunity to divorce
using either Mediation or Collaborative Divorce. Both processes
are non-adversarial and offer couples the opportunity to
maintain their dignity, preserve their assets and protect their
children through the divorce process. I am happy to consult with
you to discuss the features of each process and to help you
determine which process would best suit you and your family.
Choosing between Mediation and
Collaborative Divorce
In Mediation, I act as a neutral third
party facilitating discussions between you and your spouse about
each of the issues of their divorce. These include division of
assets, future parenting roles, child support and spousal
support. While I act as a resource for the legal aspects of
divorce, I do not provide legal representation to either you or
your spouse in the mediation process. Instead, I guide you both
through the legal process and help you make your own decisions
based on your established goals and sense of fairness. What is divorce mediation?
In Collaborative Divorce, I act as your
attorney and another Collaborative attorney will represent your
spouse. Unlike the traditional attorney representation in
divorce, the attorneys will work cooperatively and focus their
efforts on settling all of the issues of your divorce instead of
fighting. When appropriate, I will also help you to select other
Collaborative team members to facilitate the Collaborative
process. Other Collaborative team members may include coaches, a
child specialist and a financial specialist. Together, the team
will address the legal, financial and emotional needs of the of
your divorce without fighting and without costly court
intervention. What is Collaborative Divorce?
